Women and austerity. Impact and resistance
International Women's Day 2012

The TUC is holding an evening of discussion and music to mark International Women's Day. At a time of austerity in Britain and the rest of Europe, as well as across the global economy, it is important to reflect on the impact this is having on women in particular. But we must also discuss what can be done to oppose austerity and rebuild the economy on the basis of fairness, equal rights and social justice.

Along with messages from around the world there will be music and guests from the world of politics and development.

Food will be served at 7pm, and there will be a pay bar.

Attendance is free, but there is a strict limit on attendance so you must register in advance by emailing Pat Brown, pbrown@tuc.org.uk
