Egyptians Youth Leaders Refuse to Meet with Clinton
15 de marzo de 2011, 12:43Cairo, Mar 15 (Prensa Latina) Leaders of the so-called January 25 Revolutionary Youth coalition on Tuesday refused to meet with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and demanded a formal apology from the United States for supporting Hosni Mubarak.

According to the Al-Ahram newspaper website, the coalition, made up of six youth groups, says it does not welcome Clintonâï¿"Ös five-day visit to Egypt.

Clinton was set to hold talks with military and civil authorities, as well as with members of the opposition.

The coalition, whose name comes from the date mass protests broke out demanding the ouster of Hosni Mubarak, also condemned past American policies on Egypt and demanded that they be reformulated after decades of supporting Mubarakâï¿"Ös dictatorship.

The coalitionâï¿"Ös declaration added that the U.S. administration was a vital supporter and ally of the ousted Mubarak regime, and that took Egyptâï¿"Ös revolution lightly and supported the old regime while Egyptian blood was being spilled.

The leaders of the coalition added that "the Egyptian people are the masters of their own land and destiny and will only accept equal relations of friendship and respect between the people of Egypt and the United States."
