The tribunal of Charlotte Monro, sacked from Whipps Cross Hospital in 2013, will resume today
The employment tribunal for a union leader sacked from her job at Whipps Cross Hospital after 26 years over criminal convictions will resume today.

Charlotte Monro, who worked as a moving and handling coordinator at the Leytonstone hospital, was sacked in 2013.
The start of the tribunal took place from January 19 to 23, but the proceedings will continue this morning (March 13) with Ms Monro due to deliver her case at Anchorage House, in Clove Crescent, Poplar.

In July 2013, Barts Health Trust suspended Ms Monroe after saying it had discovered "undisclosed prison sentences" relating to her protests in the past.

However Ms Monro, chairwoman of Unison’s Waltham Forest health branch, claims the dismissal was due to her union work.

She said disciplinary action began when she expressed concerns about changes to stroke services at a council meeting.

Barts Health rejects this claim.

The tribunal is due to finish on Monday and a decision will then be made behind closed doors by the end of next week.
