Promising local results and hoping for Euro success on Sunday
A massive thank you for all your help and encouragement during the local and European election campaigns.

We’ve had some very encouraging results from the local elections, even though we didn’t manage to win any seats. Particularly exciting were our Liverpool Anfield candidate Louise Boothroyd causing a shock locally coming second to Labour and beating the Tories, Lib Dems and Greens; and our Fulham Munster candidate Dede Wilson managing to beat all three Lib Dems in her ward.

The full details:

In Liverpool, Louise Boothroyd came from nowhere to come second to Labour, beating the Tories, Liberals and Greens. http://nhap.org/weve-come-second-in-liverpool-ward//> In Hammersmith & Fulham, Dede Wilson took 3rd spot, beating all three Lib Dems. http://nhap.org/our-local-candidate-in-fulham-beats-all-3-lib-dems//> In Rotherham, Naveen Judah was a decisive factor in pushing Labour into 3rd place: http://nhap.org/labour-under-pressure-in-rotherham//> In Cheltenham, Neil Beck beat the Greens and was around 20-25 votes shy of both Labour and Tories. http://nhap.org/cheltenham-candidate-beats-green//> In Enfield, Kieran McGregor beat the Greens. http://nhap.org/enfield-candidate-polls-strongly//> In Plymouth, Steve Blackburn put up a good show as the Tories and UKIP battled it out: http://nhap.org/plymouth-candidate-puts-up-good-fight-as-tory-and-ukip-slug-it-out//>

The Euro elections results will be announced on Sunday evening from 10pm. We’ll be at City Hall in London for the results. You’ll be able to watch them live on TV and of course we’ll be live tweeting them too.

We really hope we can top off a great campaign with a Euro seat. Frustratingly, the media obsession with UKIP and blanket coverage of the mainstream parties meant that for the overwhelmingly majority of voters, the ballot paper would have been the first time they saw the NHA name.

But let’s hope thousands of voters had the same reaction as this voter who told us: “I’d never heard of you before, but when I saw your name on the ballot paper, both me and my wife voted for you”.
