Cuban President Raul Castro met on Wednesday with Abdulhafid M. Zlitni, secretary of the People´s General Planning and Finance Committee of Libya, who is visiting Havana as special envoy of leader Muammar Gaddafi. Abdulhafid M. Zlitni brought Raul Castro a message from Gaddafi, and also informed him about the efforts by the Libyan government to face the international campaign to isolate Libya currently orchestrated by western powers, according to a news article published by Granma newspaper. The Cuban head of state reiterated Cuba´s strongest condemnation of the military aggression carried out by NATO against Libya and particularly the constant bombing of civilian facilities, which have resulted in the death of innocent people. Raul Castro demanded the immediate end of these actions in order to advance towards a peaceful solution on the grounds of respect for the Libyan people´s Independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty over their local national resources and their self-determination. The distinguished visitor was accompanied by Ahmed Jarrud, undersecretary of the People´s General Committee for Foreign Relations and by Ali Mohamed Ahmed Ajeli, ambassador to Cuba.
