Post Office managers vote for strike
Post OfficePost Office managers have voted for industrial action in a dispute over pay.

Post office managers have rejected a three year non-pensionable pay deal. Despite the managers rejecting the pay offer, the Post Office has refused to negotiate with the union to reach an acceptable agreement.

Unite officer Brian Scott said: “This result for industrial action sends a clear message to the employer that managers are dissatisfied with the pay offer from the Post Office. They are understandably concerned about the impact this three year pay deal will have on their pensions.

“Unite met the Post Office last week to try to resolve the dispute and the union is meeting negotiators again next week. The opportunity is there for them to avoid any action but their position will have to change.”

In order to give the talks mentioned above a chance Unite will not be advising the Post Office of any specific industrial action for at least 7 days. Post Office managers voted by 52 per cent in favour of strike action and 68% in favour of action short of a strike.
