Ethiopian Tigrayans and Eritreans demonstrated against the war in Tigray in London, opposite 10 Downing Street, the UK Prime Minster residence. The Protesters highlighted the many atrocities committed by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed government in the name of "law enforcement operation" on the people of Tigray. Many Eritreans came out to show their support and solidarity to the people of Tigray, and condemned the President of Eritrea, Isaias Afeworki's participation in the war in Tigray. Many mechanised divisions of Eritrean Army are supporting the Abiy government. Towns and cities in Tigray have been bombed relentlessly by artillery, air and drone strikes. UAE drones are used to target civilians in towns and cities including churches and the historical 7th century mosque in Negash. Prime Minister Abiy's and President Isaias's war on Tigray have killed Thousands of civilians including children, women and the Elderly. Abiy and Isaias war on Tigray have killed thousands and displaced more than 950,000 people internally. According to United Nations, about 50, 000 refugees entered into Sudan to escape the indiscriminate and barbaric machete massacres, ethnic violence and gross human rights abuses including rapes of women and young girls perpetrated by Ethiopian army, Eritrean army, Amhara Special Forces and Militias. Universities, hotels and hospitals equipment, industrial machineries, historical artefacts, church manuscripts and people's properties including doors, glasses and kitchenware utensils have been looted by Eritrean Army and Amhara Militias, and transported to Eritrea and Amhara region with the approval of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF). Farms and crops have been destroyed deliberately, and livestocks have been killed mercilessly. Tigrayans in Addis Ababa and other part of the country have been facing "ethnic profiling", and dismissed from their jobs including in the civil service, banks and construction firms. The Abiy government has frozen Tigrayans banks accounts across the country, and confiscated their properties. Harassment of Tigrayan journalists and hate speech against Tigrayans is wide spread that is miliciouly carried out by Federal and Amhara regional governments, and aired by state and Amhara regional media organisations. Similarly, Ethiopian Airlines ethnically profiled and sacked employees' of Tigrayan origin (pilots, technicians, etc) from their jobs in support of Abiy's government war in Tigray. The Airline has also been transporting soldiers and logistics in support of the war on Tigray by suspending some of its civilian flights. This is totally unacceptable for a public airline to take sides thereby supporting genocide and war crimes on the people of Tigray. Since 04 November 2020, Prime Minister Abiy has shut down banks; cut communications and electricity; blocked all roads and transports to Tigray. The people of Tigray are facing starvation at the hand of their government. The African Union, UN, and EU and western government have failed to stop the genocide and gross human rights abuses committed by Abiy Ahmed and Isaias Afeworki governments in Tigray. Under the watch of UN, Rwanda and Bosnia and Rohingya genocides are repeated again in Tigray. |
