| ACT OF REMEMBRANCE – THURSDAY 27 JANUARY 2022 - 11.00AM Trustees of the Soviet War Memorial Trust (SWMT) are organising the annual Act of Remembrance at the Soviet War Memorial to mark HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL DAY on THURSDAY 27 JANUARY starting at 11.00am. This ceremony will be a joint event organised in co-operation with Southwark Council. Participants should gather in front of the main entrance to the Imperial War Museum, Lambeth Road, London SE1 6HZ by 10.45AM. From there they will process to the nearby Memorial. Holocaust Memorial Day is a poignant reminder that the fight for a human-centred society, where the rights, including the right to life, of all human beings are respected is an ongoing fight. We remember all human beings whose lives were taken from them in the Holocaust of World War II and other holocausts where many, many millions have lost their lives. At the same time, we fight for a society now where no one is illegal, where it is war itself which has no place. |
